Don’t Drink the Poison

Updated: May 2, 2025

Don’t be mad at the wasp. The wasp doesn’t even know he is a wasp. No amount of energy and time concerning ourselves with the existence of another being creates change in the reality that is, in the composition of who they are, or in the possibility they can or will change. It simply drains us with no effect other than internalized resentment. Resentment is choosing to suffer due to the existence of another. It only harms us and is a constant reminder that we aren't in control and have given our power away. We can not choose who someone is or what they do; that is out of our control. We are, however, able to recognize the potential threat, and decide how we can protect ourselves. The wasp will always be a wasp and, so, will always carry the threat of a sting. Practice radical acceptance that stinging is inherent in his nature whether you choose to suffer for what he is, and only then can you get your power back.
