Human nature is to run from danger, or from what we perceive as dangerous. We may run using avoidance, denial, or distraction to grant us a false sense of security that allows us to cope and function and, sometimes, just survive. Therapy can help us identify our fears, become familiar with their purpose, find value in their message, and take comfort in the truth they can teach us about our life experience. Fear can be what saves you if you are courageous enough to welcome it in. Therapy is such a beautiful and powerful process; one that can provide the safety necessary to be able to mold our most intimidating fears into our most familiar teachers, all so that we no longer have to run.
